CRAZIEST BAND MOMENT
While playing with a tejano, we had the opportunity to be the opening act for a major band from Mexico in San Antonio.  As we were walking off
stage, we heard people yelling “ la Migra” (immigration).  It was pandemoneom.  Needless to say, the band did not go on as planned, and
immigration loaded 10 buses full of illegal immigrants…..that was hilarious.  I love America.

HISTORY AND EXPERIENCE
Been playing the drums since the age of 9. I played in conjunto bands
with my dad and moved on to play Tejano music with several other
Tejano bands. I was in the high school marching band and joined a
rock band during that period.  Got married at a young age and did not
touch a pair of sticks for 13 years. Later in life, met someone who
encouraged me to start playing again. Started playing with local
cover bands such as 8 Ball, Karnaval and Last Call Band since 2004.
Currently a member of Prototype since November 2007…..and loving
it.

INFLUENCES
First and foremost, my biggest influence in my musical career is my
dad. Watching my father play at an early age gave me the  
encouragement to learn his craft........and here I am now. Other
influences include: Jon Bonham, Tommy Lee, Nicko Mcbryant, Kenny
Arnoff and Neil Pearlt - just to mention a few. One local drummer is
Richard Solis, who played with several tejano bands.

HIGHLIGHT OF CAREER
In November of 2006, I performed with my dad and his band before his
passing. Meeting Tommy Lee of Motley Crue and watching him play
back stage. Another drummer I met was Scott Phillips of Alter Bridge.

EQUIPMENT
Yamaha Stage Custom 10, 12, 14 toms and 22 inch kick, A few snare
drums to include: PDP Maple with wood hoops and (favorite) Vinnie
Paul Pearl snare, Zildjian A Custom Cymbals, Z custom mega bell,
Yamaha Hardware, Evans Drum Heads, Vic Firth and Zildjian drum
sticks, Shure mics with a Yamaha Sub-kick. Currently invested in a
new kit - a Kick Ass Tama set with a 24 inch Kick.  

INTERESTS
Other than music, by day I am a heavy equipment mechanic. My
