HISTORY AND EXPERIENCE
I've been in the music scene for over fifteen years. Picked up my first
guitar in high school. Had a top 40 band that played a little of
everything. Got very serious at the age of 21. Played in my first
serious band which comprised of Spanish rock. Moved on to play in a
few Tejano bands which toured in the states and internationally. Finally
created my first rock band in San Antonio in 1999. The band's name
was Double 8, soon changed it to Molliesrevenge two years later. For
over three years now, Prototype has been the existing name of this
latest project. Recorded my own original music (rock) and had a minor
attempt at the original scene during the Molliesrevenge phase.
INFLUENCES
If you listen to my original recordings, some influences at that time
were System of a Down, Godsmack, and Creed. I'm a huge fan of
glamour rock from the 80's (the days of true guitar playing). Just to
mention a few - Dokken, Ratt, Whitesnake, etc. I listen to all genres of
music........feel I can absorb it all and incorporate it into my playing.
HIGHLIGHT OF CAREER
Played with a well known band out of the windy city by the name of La
Sombra. Travelled substantially all over the states playing in large
venues for thousands of crazed fans.
EQUIPMENT
Have an addiction to six string axes. Currently using Les Paul, Fender
Strat, and Schecter for performances. My collection consists of many
more which I occasionally interchange. Also, using a Marshall single 12
combo (sufficient enough for gigs). Effects consist of a Zoom GFX 707
with expression pedal, an individual chorus pedal, 535Q cry baby wah,
and a Seymour Duncan solo boost. Like to keep it simple. Processed
pedals have been a majority favorite during my career...beginning to
make transition to the individualized pedals for tone.
INTERESTS
Other than music, an educator with the school system. Fanatic about sports: football has to be the favorite. Cowboys and Longhorns kick ass.
Try to stay active athletically by playing different sports.
CRAZIEST BAND MOMENT
Within good context......played with a band who had a few gigs up north. Played seven gigs in four nights. Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin were
the destinations for these events ( New Year's week and COLD). Needless to say, the band leader made some bad decisions and the promoter
ran off with all the cash. Had to call my old man to wire a hundred bucks to Chicago so I could catch a bus ride home. That was my last
experience with that damn band.
